Voti e considerazioni del nuovo capitolo di Hunter x Hunter

I capitoli mettono hype ok, ma la metà di questi discorsi sono senza senso secondo me. Oppure togashi non ha saputo spiegarli bene. Ok che anche la traduzione non è granchè, sempre meglio della settimana scorsa, però ci sono frasi e affermazioni che si basano su cose che noi non sappiamo...
Comunque, qualcuno ha capito per caso quali sono le provocazioni di beyond? Perchè boh, io non capisco. Come non capisco il motivo per cui se vorranno rispondere alla provocazione mandano tutti nel nuovo mondo (e chi sarebbe tutti?). E anche perchè in caso contrario andrà l'associazione hunter. Non dicevano che se spedivano beyond, con lui probabilmente sarebbe andata l'associazione a sorvegliarlo? Boh.
Ah sì, un'ultima cosa nonchè la più importante. La doppia pagina con la nave dice che partiranno per un viaggio "inaugurale" beyond, il re e 14 principi (che suppongono comprendano i 12 zodiac). Allora perchè pariston fa tutto quel discorso?

L'intero mondo di HxH è situato in un "piccolo laghetto" del Continente Oscuro: l'idea ci sta ma è la scala del territorio a risultare a dir poco assurda! Non basterebbero secoli per esplorarlo

Come già detto nel capitolo precedente, mi piace la svolta "politica" che sta prendendo la storia, con i V5 che pianificano di annettere Kaikin (formando il V6) in modo da evitare problemi di sorta. Però è la modalità con cui avverrà questa annessione a non essermi del tutto chiara. Allora, correggetemi se sbaglio:
I V5 vogliono che lo Zodiaco catturi Beyond, in modo da rendere più semplice trattare con Kaikin. Dopodiché, permetteranno al re di Kaikin (a cui andrà tutta la gloria e l'onore della spedizione), a Beyond (imprigionato dallo Zodiaco) e ai vari immigrati (che avevano risposto alla chiamata di Beyond) di partire per il Continente Oscuro, sotto il controllo dell'Associazione degli Hunter. In realtà, però, non si dirigeranno veramente verso il Continente Oscuro ma colonizzeranno delle isole inabitate che si trovano ai confini del lago/oceano.
Prevedendo una decisione del genere da parte del V5, Beyond si è consegnato allo Zodiaco, pianificando di farsi liberare dai suoi uomini per poi fuggire nel Continente Oscuro. C'è qualcosa che mi sfugge?

Bellissimo il confronto tra Jin e Pariston ma, anche qui vorrei una spiegazione: la frase che Jin rivolge a Pariston (finché non mi chiamerai "zio") è un modo di dire inglese che significa "finché non riconoscerai la mia superiorità" o implica un grado di parentela fra i due?
Si parla nuovamente dei 5000 bozzoli di Formichimera che, a quanto ho capito, verranno usati se le provocazioni di Beyond non saranno raccolte.

Infine, con solamente 3 persone uscite illese dal Continente Oscuro (Isaac e Beyond Netero, più una terza persona che adesso sarà morta... a meno di non contare Isaac due volte, visto che tante sono le volte in cui ci è andato) e una percentuale di sopravvivenza dello 0.04% non vedo proprio cosa ci azzecchino i nostri protagonisti con questa saga Cioè, la difficoltà di questa missione è su una scala completamente differente rispetto a quella delle Formichimere XD
Vi dirò che non mi dispiacerebbe se venissero accantonati per concentrarci su Jin Anche se penso che questa prima spedizione si concluderà con un fallimentare buco nell'acqua e senza che nessuno (o quasi) dei partecipanti ritorni. In questo modo, dopo un timeskip di un paio d'anni si organizzerà una nuova spedizione a cui parteciperà anche Gon (che potrebbe essere motivato dal ritrovare il padre)... sarebbe interessante, anche se la questione del "recupero" è un clichè ricorrente e mi aspetterei qualcosa di più innovativo da HxH Vedremo come evolverà la vicenda... e mi sa che mi toccherà rileggere questo capitolo una terza volta, all'uscita delle scan in italiano

Page 1:
Beyond Netero's shackled with some crazy gauntlet to the wall in an interrogation room: small toilet in the corner, bench for him to sit on, and a table. Across from him is Cheadle, and the other Zodiacs look in from the window. As Cheadle sits, Beyond remarks that V5 has him (Beyond) exactly where they want him - but before they "roast him over a spit", he'll make a prediction...

Page 2:
...that the Zodiacs will end up releasing Beyond, and they'll accompany him to the Dark Continent! The Zodiacs look shocked, but Cheadle plays it cool by telling him it's an "unrealistic assumption", as Beyond's considered a disturbance to international peace and has been sentenced to long-term imprisonment. Beyond smiles and agrees, but notes there are "other methods" to head into the Dark Continent. Presumably, he means besides getting explicit V5 approval. He notes it may take some time for the V5 to be informed of his capture, possibly enough time to do something.

Page 3: Cheadle mentions she'll be logging their entire conversation; Beyond acquiesces, stating the Zodiacs are acting as "government lapdogs." His mannerisms and words exactly resemble Isaac Netero's. Cheadle notes the Zodiacs are on the defensive; Beyond leans forward and begins discussing V5's official position and true motives.

Page 4: Now, the action flops to a presentation given by the dude introduced last chapter. Turns out the 'known world' governed by the V5 actually sits in the giant Lake Moebius, in the heart of the Dark Continent. Gathered data reveals humanity has attempted to cross the ocean and return 149 times (?). 5 of those voyages (?) happened after V5 entered into a mutual non-aggression pact, with only 28 survivors. Beyond is one of those 28. The 5 voyages required 'unofficial guides', without whom humanity cannot cross the ocean.

Page 5: Officially, throughout recorded history, humanity has never been able to make a round trip under its own strength (i.e without an unofficial guide). The implication is that unofficially, it may have. All 28 survivors of the 5 voyages were incredibly fit and lucky, and yet only 3 have successfully returned to normal life. Therefore, sending regular civilians on the trip is essentially granting them a death sentence.
Ms. Audience Surrogate asks Mr. Exposition (both audience members) who the 'unofficial guides' are. Apparently, they're a "magic bestial species" with the "sole connection" to the Dark Continent.

Page 6: Another official asks the presenter to confirm the 5 Great Calamities are real, in light of this information about the voyages. Capitalist Monopolyman pipes up, noting that regardless of the risk, all the adventurers seeking to enter the Dark Continent need is fuel, so the V5 should simply foot the bill and wait for results, like a "proper country with proper corporate interests." Finally, someone asks about the progress in stopping Kakin from sending people to the Dark Continent.
Article IV of the Kakin Constitution permits military intervention to force "compulsory public participation" in whatever is necessary to stop "international threats" such as infectious diseases, plagues, and dangerous lifeforms - crucially, the 5 Great Calamities would fit the bill.

Page 7:
While immensely restrictive on personal liberty, laws like Kakin's Article IV are incredibly effective. However, to successfully establish military intervention in its borders, Kakin would need the support of the V5. Therefore, the presenter proposes the formation of V6, including Kakin with the V5. Publicly, the King of Kakin will be seen as the leader of humanity's efforts to breach the Dark Continent, and power in V6 will be divided equally among the six members (incl. Kakin).

Page 8:
Publicly, the original V5 members will stand behind Kakin in sending civilians to the Dark Continent. Behind the scenes, they'll simply send emigrants to the uninhabited islands near the border of the Dark Continent, a virtual 'new continent'. As for the "actual voyage", V5 will carefully select the members and let Kakin "lead" the voyage, while strengthening the relationships between the V5 countries. Ms. Audience Surrogate asks how the Hunter Association will react. The presenter notes their current task is to capture Beyond; after that, they'll be the key negotiators in forming the "actual voyage". If they fail, V5 will need to negotiate directly with Kakin; however, this would increases costs by 25-fold, so it's not an attractive option.

Page 9: Shift back to Cheadle and Beyond. Beyond claims the "limitless open door" to emigration to the Dark Continent was announced by V5 to make it look like it support Kakin's ambition publicly. However, that plan relies on the Hunters backing up the Civilian Immigration Association (CIA) of the V5. Beyond smirks; if V5 screws up and people get hurt in a voyage, the Hunter Association will be blamed. Cheadle retorts the Hunters will be fine and Beyond should worry about himself.
Horse explains that Beyond will make Kakin's king famous for all of history in return for sponsoring a voyage to the Dark Continent. Snake continues that if the Hunters fail this task (capturing Beyond), they'll lose support and work from its top customers; if they complete it successfully, they'll have total access to the Dark Continent and aid humanity as a whole. However, it relies on Beyond's current conversation with Cheadle. It's high risk, high return.

Page 10:
If Cheadle contacts V5 saying they've captured Beyond, the V5 will tell Cheadle to tell Beyond that they'll accept a "surveillance voyage" (info-gathering expedition) to the Dark Continent, with Beyond in charge. This would sideline the Hunters and demonstrates the V5 doesn't trust them. Instead, Beyond offers the Hunters a third option: go with him to the Dark Continent. Cheadle agrees, and Beyond asks that they take anything they need to confirm his identity as Isaac Netero's son. His sole goal is to make it to the Dark Continent, and he's willing to step over his father's organization to do it. Cheadle orders Cow to contact V5.

Page 11: Cheadle exits the room, and the Zodiacs discuss. The Hunters were dragged into the 'arena' quicker than they anticipated and without being fully prepared, but it was the fastest way to get to the Dark Continent. The plan is for the Zodiacs to escort Beyond to the Dark Continent, where he'll "escape"; under their supervision, he'll eliminate the original group he organized to go to the Dark Continent.

Page 12:
Horse now guards Beyond's room. Cheadle tells Beyond to prepare for a lengthy imprisonment.

Page 13: The CIA presenter and the manager guy from last chapter talk. The manager mentions their role is to present all the information as accurately as possible, and let the V5 decide if there will be an expedition. The CIA officially lists the "New World Traveller's Log" as mere fantasy, but it was the foundation for the info they presented. Ultimately, they decide it's better to protect peace than to be honest with the public.

Page 14:
The news broadcast in Kakin reveals a colossal ship capable of carrying 200,000 emigrants to the Dark Continent, commissioned by King Hoicoro. In one year, they'll build 20 more. In five years, 1,000,000 people will be transported to the Dark Continent. Today will be the maiden voyage of the first ship, carrying Beyond, King Hoicoro, and 14 princes. The raffle to get onto the ships has begun, with a 1/1300 chance of being selected to get onto the first ship.

Page 15:
Journalists discuss the risks of the planned voyages on TV. The anchor notes that C rank species are on the official species list, but unofficially many people "on the internet" believe there are A- and B-rank species as well. The guest playfully dismisses these claims, suggesting the "real risk" is infectious disease, not dangerous animals. With humanity's grasp of medicine, he claims, the risk of bringing disease back is slim, and within a decade we'll enter our greatest gold rush ever.

Page 16:
The Dark Continent, he claims, is the Continent of Dreams. Meanwhile, Ging enters the room where Beyond's companions are staying.

Page 17:
Ging asks if they'll let him join, surprising Pariston who thought Ging was coming to stop them. Ging corrects Pariston - Ging is here to stop them. Pariston confirms that "the riot" (?) was his idea. If the Hunter Association responds to Beyond, Beyond's companions will be heading to the Dark Continent; if not, it will be the Hunters themselves. Ging tells Pariston to send in 5000 Chimera Ants instead if he wants to give the Hunters something to play with, saying the Hunters aren't Pariston's toys, and asking him not to cause any further disturbance.

Page 18:
Ging tells Pariston he'll be directly "playing" with Pariston, and won't stop until the latter admits defeat. Pariston smiles, glad that Ging has at least agreed to "play". Ging smiles as well; he's only interested in "playing" by himself, implying he'll try to crush Pariston as quickly as possible.
Bleh that took forever.
